Without a doubt, more people are looking to sell their homes privately in Spokane and everywhere else today than used to be the case. Statistics show that no matter what type of real estate is being sold, from commercial property in Spokane to Brampton condos, 15% of sellers are trying to make the sale on their own. That's 10% more than were making this attempt just a decade ago!

There are a lot of reasons for this climb in independent sales numbers. For one thing, getting word about Spokane or Oshawa real estate up for sale is a lot easier today than it was not long ago. The growth of the Internet and its widespread availability has meant people have faith that their independently listed home will be seen by thousands, at least on computer screens.

For another, property prices have seen a huge hike in the last decade, and people are less willing to part with the percentage commission used to pay realtors. From Spokane Washington to Arlington Texas, real estate agents are paid anywhere from 7-12% on the sale of a home. When you are looking at the sale of a $300,000 home, that can seem like a lot of money!

While people may feel that they are losing money through the use of an agent, or even as though they can do the job themselves, agents still prove to be invaluable allies when one is trying to sell a piece of property. At the very least, they can save you a lot of time, and they may also save you a significant amount of money. Here's how.

First off, all real estate agents (even those making their first sale) have experience in the market. They are trained to properly list Spokane or Mississauga condos for sale under the regulations of the state or province, and country in which they are registered. Real estate training courses include introductions to real estate law that may not be widely known by the layperson.

Next, agents also have access to resources which private sellers will not. Many people think that the MLS is a tool open to everybody, but that's not true. In almost every jurisdiction a person who is not a registered real estate agent, Caledon based or somewhere else, has no or limited access to the MLS. It's a tool which has been set up by realtors, for realtors.

Registered and experienced agents will also know the technicalities and strategies a home seller will have to contend with in order to sell their home fast, and at the right price. Again, it's a matter of experience. Where a person selling privately may do so only once every five years or so, an agent may sell five to ten homes every month. That's a lot more exposure to effective home sale strategies!
